annual food collection event for the

Deerfield Rotary Club annual picnic. Food, family and fun in the great
outdoors. George Balis will be the program for that day “All About mosquitoes.”
In addition we’ll also have a Shelter Box demonstration. Mark it on your calendar and bring your
family.
June 20 − Club golf outing (9 holes) and
installation dinner for President Elect Chuck Frieman. Take the place of our
weekly meeting.

Our Hospitality Suite rocked, thanks to Christine Celik, who had the room
decked out in black and gold balloons, little gold fountains and glitter
tables, and wall portraits of The King and Marilyn Monroe. Thanks to Frank
Lomoro and Sunset Foods, who provided
beverages and snacks and a big sign. Dave Wolff brought the photo board and
board sign and worked Friday evening. Chris and Abe Celik worked Friday and
Saturday evening, and Joe Boyd was on hand Friday. Bruce Piepenbrink of the
Wheeling Club was spinning the tunes as DJ, playing music upon request, and
even Past District Governor Tadashi and his wife were seen cutting the rug to
rock music.
Double Jeopardy. Our own Chuck Frieman advanced past
the first round of Rotary Jeopardy at the District Conference, but was aced out
in the championship round by “little” Mimi Makar. Many of you remember Mimi’s
mother, Mimi Altman, who was a member of the
